Requirements

In order to complete this course you need to:
  • Hand in at least 50% of all lab assignments.
    • They have to do at least something similar to what the assignment was. :) Somehow demonstrate, that you've understood what the pattern is all about!
  • Complete 2 written tests:
    • 1 midterm (date: TBA(To Be Announced))
    • 1 final (date: TBA)
Since there are few who can't attend the lectures, the tests will be during the lab sessions. There will of course be a repeated test for those who fail or do not attend. The repeated test will take place during a normal lab session, so the others will be working on their assignment.

You can get a proposed grade by writing a Case Study about either an open source application, library or about a programm you wrote. The study has to point out:
  • Which patterns are used?
  • To what intent?
  • What are the benefits
  • and trade offs?
  • General evaluation of the implementation:
    • Was the use of the pattern necessary?
    • How did the general design benefit from it's usage, in terms of:
      • Flexibility,
      • Maintainability,
      • and of course Reusability.
  • Commented UML diagramms and source code must be part of the document!
